Pain Engines are created when the soul of a sentient being is trapped, and tortured non-physically in a sort of digital purgatory. This digital suffering is typically weak, but the employment of feedback loops ensures that the victim feels eternities in mere seconds. This feedback loop system outputs a significant amount of red and yellow Chi. This Chi is harnessed by an occultist to power computers beyond the scope of human imagination, creating gateways to the beyond, and altering reality as we know it.
